As soon as we left the ground
I knew I myself had to fly! Who We AreVia Air was incorporated in 1984 to teach the art of flying. We can teach you from your basic Private certificate through ATP. Our goal is not to teach you in the minimum amount of time but to take the time that is necessary to teach you to fly SAFELY. We are not here to get you your certificate in the quickest time or the cheapest cost. We are here to teach you to fly safely and the certificate will follow and will mean more when you get it. We do not have an "assembly line" school nor do we use cookie cutters to pop out pilots. We make sure that you get personalized training from your instructor. You will be assigned an instructor and you will stay with that instructor as long as possible. You will even have your instructors home phone number for any last minute problems or changes. We do not disappear at the end of the day. Please don't abuse this privilege, but you will develop a close teacher-student relationship with your instructor. Your instructor will try hard to get you through this process with the least amount of problems or inconveniences. Via Air instructors are people dedicated to teaching. They are not instructors that just got their Instructor's Certificate or just want experience to try to get into the airlines. We have instructors that also work for commuter airlines but still teach at Via Air simply because they like to teach. This makes for an instructor that cares about what they do and will take the time to make sure they do it right. A common complaint from students around the country is that they trained at a flight school that had young instructors just trying to build time and then the instructor moves on and the student is transferred over the the next available instructor. This can cause several transfers before you get your certificate. Some students complain that they had 3 or 4 instructors and had to build new bonds every time this happened. It also means that some time and money is wasted because the new instructor has to get a feel for his new student. Via Air does not base its training on these kinds of instructors. Our instructors are people with families and other commitments. They are not the type of instructor just looking to "build time" so they can move on. Our instructors do this solely because they love to teach and have no aspirations of leaving for the airlines. This makes for an instructor that is older with more experience in teaching and flying while many other flight schools use instructors that are "green". Would you like to meet the Via Air staff?
